Stop by a Pop-Up Open House Public Meeting at a Transit Center to learn more about changes coming in 2026.

We conducted a systemwide study of our transit system and found ways to make it better and we’re ready to share our plans with you!

Sun Metro has conducted a comprehensive study of its transit system and, guided by community feedback, has identified key updates to make service more efficient, reliable, and better aligned with riders’ needs. The planned changes will increase route frequencies, reduce travel times, and reshape service by streamlining existing routes, introducing new ones, and discontinuing routes with low or no ridership.

These updates, set to begin in 2026, will bring one of the most significant enhancements to El Paso’s public transit in years, improving connections to jobs, schools, health care, and other essential destinations.

Riders are encouraged to attend a series of open-house public meetings to meet with study consultants, review the data behind the updates, and learn more about how the new system will work. A specific launch date will be announced soon.
